Project Overview
The project was a high-end residential development that required a full electrical system design and installation. This included state-of-the-art lighting solutions, integrated home automation, and bespoke features to create a luxurious and functional living environment. The property, spread across multiple levels, consisted of bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms, entertainment areas, and a large living space, each requiring unique and customised electrical configurations.
Scope of Work
Trent Electrical was responsible for delivering a comprehensive electrical installation that covered both standard and bespoke lighting, power distribution, and home automation elements throughout the property.
- First Floor Lighting: The first floor of the project featured tailored lighting installations, including integrated LED strips in headboards, back-lit mirrors, and under-cabinet lighting. These elements were designed to enhance the atmosphere of spaces like the master bedroom, dressing areas, and en-suite bathrooms
- Lower Ground Floor: The lighting in the lower ground floor was just as intricate, with LED strips used for backlighting the bar and textured walls. Specialised concealed lighting was integrated into architectural features such as stairs and storage
- Home Automation Integration: Advanced home automation systems were incorporated, including Alexa-controlled devices, smart switches, and integrated Wi-Fi connectivity throughout. The entertainment areas, such as the cinema and games rooms, required precise coordination of audiovisual setups and mood lighting
Technical Considerations and Solutions
One of the technical challenges faced was ensuring uniform lighting across diverse spaces while maintaining energy efficiency. Custom solutions like LED strip lights and recessed fixtures were utilised to enhance key architectural features, including concealed lighting profiles for headboards and recesses.
Custom Lighting Features: Bespoke solutions were delivered, including a circular pendant light mimicking designs like the Artemide “O” suspension. This added a modern, artistic touch while ensuring functionality
Smart Home Automation: The integration of Alexa and smart systems required meticulous planning to ensure seamless control across all rooms. Smart switches and sensors, including PIR motion detectors, were installed to provide automatic lighting control
Energy Efficiency: LED technology was heavily implemented, allowing for low energy consumption without sacrificing the aesthetic quality of the lighting. Adjustable downlights, hidden strips, and task lighting were carefully selected to create an ambient yet practical environment.
